Gloria Downer Pearson - Dare To Dream
Gloria Downer Pearson has been playing and singing since she was 14. She
sang with Bill Downer and the Country Playboys. Her talent comes naturally,
as she is the niece of the late Bill Downer, well-known country artist. She
is known as "Peterborough's Country Lady" on the Good'n Country Show on
Trent Radio 92.7FM on Saturday morning from 7 - 12. She has sung in
Nashville at the Nashville Palace, Tootsies, Legends, Roberts with Jimmy
Snyder, at the Fiddle and Steel (Printers Alley) and with Noel Haggard's
back up band at" Barbara's" in Printers Alley. Gloria also sang on the
General Jackson in Nashville. She has also sang at Ranchmen's a few times
in Calgary. Gloria also appeared this year with Barry Haggarty at the
Peterborough Festival of Lights at Crary Park.
Gloria was inducted into the Peterborough Pathway of Fame this summer at
Crary Park with the band "Just Plain Country". She also plays in the band
"New Kountry Klassics" which plays for dances in Peterborough and
surrounding areas. Gloria appeared at the annual Classic Country Music
Reunion in Trenton and jamborees at Colborne, Baldwin, Blackstock, Hastings.
Gloria's CD has the best of musicians on it - Ken Post Drums and harmony
(the singing Post Family) Al Brisco - Steel guitar and dobro, Andrew Afflick
- Bass, Steve O'Connor-Piano, Barry Haggarty - Guitars and Mandolin,
June Eikhard - Fiddle and Dan Washburn- harmony (ex of South Mountain Band).
