Jim Dix - Apply Sparingly, Rinse Well

From the quirky hurdy-gurdy of “Oral Roberts (University)” to the sublimely inchoate lyrics of “The Glance”, Jim weaves a mixture of 100% green and renewable tunes that will put the “t” back in jaunty and an “o” back on your lips (“Apply Sparingly, Rinse Well” also conveniently doubles as a car windshield ice scraper…all four corners of the jewel case have been left un-sanded). Jim grew up in Highland Creek (located on the eastern edge of Scarborough, Ontario) and then lived everywhere else. Three songs from this non-vinylized LP have found a home with the following television productions. “The Essential Garden” has been licensed for use in “Guns”, an upcoming mini-series to be shown on CBC featuring Colm Feore and Elisha Cuthbert. “Hear You Snore” (co-written with Cliff Reid) and “Don’t Understand” have been licensed for use in a CTV pilot entitled “Dan for Mayor” featuring Fred Ewanuick of “Corner Gas” fame. Keep your ear to the railroad track and don’t take any wooden nickels!
