Carmen Jones - Can You See It?

“Can You See It” is Carmen Jones’s second CD. This CD is in a genre all its own. It has influences of jazz bluegrass and blues. Carmen is very rooted in the Aboriginal community and has the gift to tell stories through her music.

Carmen has been involved in music since she was young. When she lived back in her home community of Garden River she was surrounded by family and community members playing the fiddle, mandolin and the organ. These types of instruments and the old country gospel and bluegrass songs have influenced her music today. Carmen started to write her own music about 15 years ago and released her first album in 2003 called “Stepping Out”. Before that she played in the Toronto and surrounding Aboriginal communities.
